Yes. Searching, identity verification and connection to legal aid are all free.
Who can use the portal?
Family members of a detainee, legal guardians and accredited lawyers or legal aid workers.
Why do I have to verify my identity?
Detainee locations are sensitive. Verification protects detainees from retaliation and prevents misuse of records.
What if I cannot find the person?
No result does not always mean the person is not in custody. Contact a legal aid organisation on the Legal Aid page for further help.
How current are the records?
Records are updated by cooperating facilities. Each result shows when it was last updated.
Can I use this on a basic phone?
Yes. The portal is designed to work on low end Android phones and slow connections.
